1. Weight and thickness selection
Match specifications based on pool type:
Ground swimming pool/household use: Choose 1500g/㎡ (about 1.2mm), tear strength ≥ 400N
Underground swimming pool/commercial premises: Choose 1875-2000g/㎡ (approximately 1.5mm), tear strength ≥ 500N
Products below 1300g/㎡ have weak puncture resistance and are prone to damage under long-term water pressure.
2. Core mechanical performance verification
It is necessary to verify that the tensile strength in the warp/weft direction is ≥ 1500N/5cm (ISO 1421) and the tear strength is ≥ 400N (DIN 53363). Require a peel strength of ≥ 100N/5cm (DIN 53357) to ensure that high-frequency welding joints do not separate during long-term immersion and trampling.
3. Dual verification of flame retardancy and antibacterial properties
Public places must be certified to EN 13501 B1 level or DIN 4102 B1, and self extinguish upon ignition. Request to provide an antibacterial and anti mold testing report (AATCC 100 or ISO 846) to effectively inhibit the growth of Aspergillus niger and Staphylococcus aureus.
4. Weathering and anti-seepage standards
Confirm the temperature resistance range of -30 ℃ to+70 ℃ (DIN 53372), and maintain a hydrostatic pressure of 0.3MPa for 3 hours without leakage (ISO 811). Require a color fastness to light of at least level 6 (ISO 4893-21000 xenon lamp aging), ensuring long-term exposure to sunlight without fading or embrittlement. Before bulk procurement, sample the fabric and test its tear resistance and waterproof performance.

Q: How long has this checkered pool liner been used? Will soaking in water for a long time cause peeling?
Answer: After using it for a whole summer, the pad is still flat and snug after drainage, without peeling at all. This material has high peel strength, and the coating is tightly bonded to the base fabric, unlike the one I bought before which started to bulge and layer after six months. I asked the merchant for the testing report, and the DIN 53357 data does indeed exceed 100N/5cm. No wonder it is so solid.
Q: What are the waterproof and antibacterial effects? Will the bottom of the pool slide?
Answer: The waterproof performance is impeccable, and there is almost no leakage of water level. It's quite surprising in terms of antibacterial properties. I didn't do much special cleaning throughout the summer, and there wasn't any slippery biofilm on the bottom of the pool. It's much easier to maintain than a regular lining without antibacterial properties. The merchant claims to meet the antibacterial standard (AATCC 100), which seems to be a casual statement.
Q: Will outdoor exposure affect the service life? What is the flame retardant performance?
Answer: I have been using it for two summers and the color has been well maintained without significant fading. It seems that the 1000 hour aging test is still reliable. In terms of flame retardancy, I tried using a lighter on the scraps and quickly extinguished the flame, but it did not continue to burn. However, it is best to equip outdoor swimming pools with professional life-saving equipment and fire-fighting facilities.
